Imagine a solitary beach in the winter: the milky sky, the sharp, cool wind, the rhythmic waves. Far off, beyond the horizon, lies Pellestrina, an island south of the Venetian lagoon—an endless source of inspiration. Picture a man, his thoughts liberated, gazing toward the infinite where the sky and horizon converge, becoming one. - this is the vision from which 'Ivo Goes Up' was born.
Crafted from a wooden branch and a gorilla sculpted in clay, this powerful form is transformed into a stunning bronze, adorned with a subtle green patina. A labor of love and tradition, the sculpture is forged using the ancient lost-wax method, expertly patinated by Guastini Foundry, founded in 1928 in Vicenza. This iconic foundry is one of the few still preserving the authenticity of this traditional technique.
'Ivo Goes Up' climbs toward infinity, reflecting the very boundless thoughts that flicker in the artist’s eyes. With only 8 editions (plus 2 artist's proofs), each piece is a limited, signed work of art by Didier Guillon—an opportunity to own a part of this transcendent vision.
