Francis Bott (1904-1998) was a German artist known for his contributions to abstract and geometric art. His symmetrical works are characterised by a meticulous attention to geometric forms, often using straight lines, circles, squares and other geometric elements to create a sense of balance and harmony in his compositions, and where the elements on one side of the work reflect those on the other. His colour choices were often subtle and limited, with a preference for a palette of muted, earthy tones, allowing the geometric shapes and symmetrical arrangements to take centre stage without distraction.
